LAX Coaches vs Cancer: Top MCLA teams coming March 5-8
This March, the Arizona lacrosse community will have a unique opportunity to see the best MCLA teams in the country square off at Reach 11 Sports Complex and support the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer. The event is being organized by the EMW Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to promoting community service and awareness through lacrosse events.
The event kicks off Thursday evening with U of A v. Simon Fraser and Desert Vista taking on Chaparral, and runs through Sunday morning. Chapman, BYU, Colorado, UC Santa Barbara and Grand Canyon will be in action, as well as several top WCLA women's teams including ASU and BYU.
Highlights of the weekend include a rematch of the 2014 MCLA final as Arizona State looks for revenge against Colorado State on Sunday morning.
In conjunction with the action on the field, the EMW Foundation is partnering with teams to benefit the American Cancer Society. Performance shooting shirts in the signature purple color of the event are available for teams and individuals to order through EMW at a minimal cost.
We would like to encourage teams at all levels-high school, junior high, and youth-to proudly display their support for this cause. This is a chance for all of us to support a worthy cause, enjoy a long weekend of quality lacrosse and to celebrate all of our efforts to grow the game as a positive example of what athletics can be.
Everyone participating will receive recognition from the American Cancer Society. Virtually all of the profits from the shirt orders will be donated directly to the ACS. Complete information on the program can be found on EMW's website. Team order forms are available here.
